SINGLENESS: WE MUST STOP MARGINALIZING OUR SINGLES!
We have too often bought into the world’s way of thinking, that marriage is the goal and singleness is a form of failure or incompleteness! This is a worldly way of looking at things. The goal of the Christian life is NOT to find a Christian mate and raise a family!
Paul says it’s fine to want to marry so there’s should be no guilt in desiring that but he also said, it’s even better to not marry! We have made singles feel like they are on the margins of the church, like it’s for married couples. Often there’s not a path for them to use their gifts and experience in the church, especially their leadership gifts. This drives people, particularly women to use their talents and gifts in the world instead of the church! This needs to change. Biblical MUTUALITY can put a stop to that. Christian single men or women who are leaders can lead, any group, mixed or not.
